Time To Go Home
This digital oil painting, with a bit of impasto, was posted for a Sept 29, 2016, DAA class using Corel Painter’s new 2017, new software version. For my final assignment I wanted to create a story. Two Ann Lenabem (attribution) photos were combined and then painted to start . I had 3 photos of the Landseer which helped me get him into position. All materials were amalgamated into a composite. And finally, I got to paint the image I wanted.
Toby, the subject, belongs with Kerri and her husband who have a lively pack of Newfoundland Dogs —of which Toby is the leading male, a Landseer. I really enjoyed painting this big guy. He’s special.
I printed this one on heavy weight Satin paper. It is a favourite with my husband and so he had it matted and built a frame to display it. It was displayed for 3 months at the Village of Chase Chambers—an honour. And then, it was “Time to go home”.-30-

Hi Marg.
Love your pics of Toby. Was in here reminising. We lost our beautiful boy to cancer at the beginning of July. You took such great pics of him.
Aw, Kerri, Sorry to hear your news. You and Scott will be sad as Toby was a big bright spot in your lives. He was lucky to have you two.
